Swipe Right for… Tickets?

While everyone else in the league is trying to match the prowess of our beloved OCSC marketing team, D.C. United may have found that “match” they were looking for. Our friends over at Black and Red United have brought us this juicy bit of information: D.C United is using Tinder to promote discounted tickets.

The NBA's Atlanta Hawks previously tried using Tinder as a way to get fans to meet in-game, but never before has a team used this app to promote ticket sales. While we're sure the D.C. United marketing team is proud of their idea, we are going to swipe left.

More Bad News from Qatar

Per a Telegraph report, a television crew was arrested in Qatar while filming a documentary on the 2022 World Cup, and specifically, the treatment of workers who are preparing the country for its hosting duties. While controversy surrounding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is nothing new, this in particular stands out because it appears Qatar is attempting to cover up human rights violations.

The crew was held for approximately 14 hours and were then released without physical harm, although they did claim to have been interrogated and even scared for their lives. However their recording equipment was destroyed and wiped clean.

For a country aiming to convince the soccer world that they are capable of hosting the world's largest and most prestigious sporting event, covering up human rights violations and harassing film crews does not seem to be helping their case.

Oscar, Kaka, and Dani Alves Left Off Brazil’s Copa America Squad

Orlando fans will be delighted to know that our captain will be with us over the summer. With many players leaving for international duty over the summer months, losing Kaka would have been devastating. While many are not surprised that Kaka was left off the list, Oscar and Dani Alves are somewhat more surprising exclusions.

Brazil coach Durga is leaning more on youth as they search for their ninth Copa America win, however many are surprised that Oscar, being arguably Brazil's second best player, was left off of the roster.

Juventus Staves Off Real Madrid In Champions League Tilt

It's hard to believe Italian Serie A champions Juventus could ever be underdogs at home, but that was exactly the situation as they squared off against Real Madrid in the opening leg of their Champions League Semifinal showdown. Andrea Pirlo and co. were having none of it though, as they held on for a 2-1 victory over the La Liga super power.

The Italian and Spanish giants will meet again on May 13, but be sure to tune in for Bayern Munich vs Barcelona tomorrow at 2:45 p.m.
