Welcome to Wednesday, y’all. You’re two days away from the weekend, and I’m four days away from officially becoming an Orlando resident. Plus, the Lions ain’t doing too bad. And it’s match day!

Exciting times! Let’s get to the links.

Rawlins Got the Power

Orlando City SC president Phil Rawlins was named one of Orlando’s Most Powerful People for the third consecutive year.

We assume he would move up to No. 1 if OCSC wins the MLS Cup in its inaugural MLS season.

Brek Shea Left off Gold Cup roster

After being left off the United States roster for the Gold Cup, Brek Shea will be with the Lions for the summer.

Orlando City fans be like:

It always helps to have your best players, you know?

But Larin on the Other Hand…

No. 1 draft pick and rookie sensation Cyle Larin made the Canada roster for the Gold Cup.

Now, Orlando City fans be like:

For what it’s worth, Darwin Ceren made the roster for El Salvador for the Gold Cup as well. Orlando City will certainly miss those two.

UCF Gets Supporters Section

With soccer’s popularity growing in Orlando at a rapid pace, University of Central Florida formed a supporters section much like Orlando City’s The Ruckus and Iron Lion Firm. The group will be called The Knight’s Watch — beating out The Cavalry and The Kingsmen.

Drop a comment below and let us know what you think about the new supporters section.

Lesbians, Lesbians Everywhere!

The Norwegian team just won the World Cup with this video. Well, not really, but you know what I mean. They put together a mockumentary to address sexist stereotypes seen so often in soccer, and it is hilarious.

Well, mostly just this.

Go Norway!

Chicago Suburb Taking On More Debt for Stadium

I don’t understand a whole lot when it comes to business. But I do know that $16 million in debt is bad. The Chicago Fire stadium has proven to provide plenty of problems for the citizens in the suburb of Bridgeview, Ill.

The main takeaway from this article is the Orlando City fans can rejoice, because they won’t have to deal with this since the new stadium is to be privately funded.

Former Orlando City Player Makes USL Team of the Week

Long Tan, former Orlando City player, was one of two forwards named to the USL team of the week this week. The Arizona United forward scored a game-winning goal on a header against Seattle. No Louisville City players made the roster.

That’s your links for the day folks. It’s game day, so be sure to relax and enjoy.
