Orlando City GK Tally Hall Named to FIFA 15 Team of the Week

The praise and recognition continues for Hall, who’s having quite the season for the Lions to date. Most recently, his play against Real Salt Lake was enough to earn a spot on FIFA 15’s Team of the Week, announced on FIFA 15’s twitter account Wednesday.

Team of the Week Tally is available to FIFA Ultimate Team players until 12:45 ET Wednesday, July 15.

Larin, Ceren Open Gold Cup Play with 0-0 Draw

It was not a game to remember, especially for Orlando City rookie striker Cyle Larin when Canada met El Salvador late last night in Gold Cup action. Larin will rue this unbelievable miss late in the first half, which could have pushed the Canadians to the top of the group after an earlier improbable draw between Costa Rica and Jamaica. A draw suited neither team with each still having to play the two best teams in the group. We hope Larin, who was subbed off in the 69th minute, can quickly put this miscue behind him.

Josh Ford Loaned to Ft. Lauderdale Strikers for Remainder of Season

Be it an honest attempt to get Ford more playing time, or a move to open a roster spot for the summer transfer window, the Orlando Sentinel’s Paul Tenorio reports that Orlando City has extended the goal keeper’s loan for the season.

We think this is a great opportunity for Josh to get valuable playing time not too far away,” general manager Paul McDonough said in a statement. “Obviously, with the veteran goalkeepers that we have such as Tally Hall and Donovan Ricketts, it’s been tough for him to see time here. The extension in his loan will allow him to continue playing regularly.

USMNT to Play Peru Sept. 4

U.S. Soccer has confirmed the USMNT will be meeting Peru at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 4 for a rematch 15 years in the making.

Peru, coming off a third-place finish in Copa América, look to avenge the 1-0 defeat from February of 2000 and break the even 2-2-1 record between the nations, while the USMNT will attempt to recreate the magic in the same building where Jürgen and the boys beat Germany 4-3 in 2013.

MLS Makes Up More Rules Midseason

This one gets a little complicated. Basically, it was announced that the league would be giving each team $500,000 to pay down their current Designated Players, removing their DP status, as long as they then sign a new DP to take their spot.

So, essentially, it was announced that the LA Galaxy could give Omar Gonzalez some wheelbarrows of cash, and then send more wheelbarrows of cash towards Giovani dos Santos to let him join the fold.
