Orlando City’s Tyler Turner, Harrison Heath Selected for 2015 MLS Homegrown Game

The 22-man roster for the 2015 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game was announced on Monday afternoon. Defender Tyler Turner and midfielder Harrison Heath were selected to take part in the game. The Lions are one of six MLS teams to have more than one player selected to the roster.

Turner was signed by Orlando City along with Tommy Redding as one of the club’s first two homegrown signings. Turner started the majority of the 2014 USL season with the Lions but lost out on a starting spot this season to Rafael Ramos. The 19-year-old has made four league appearances while starting twice and started in one U.S. Open Cup game against the Charleston Battery.

Heath was signed last season from the Norwich City academy and spent the 2014 season with the USL side. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder has made three league appearances this season and featured in both U.S. Open Cup games.

While Turner will take part in the all-star event, Heath was forced to drop out of the competition after dislocating his knee in a friendly on July 15 against West Bromwich Albion.

The team, which will be coached by former United States Men’s National Team star Landon Donovan, will take on Club America’s U-20 team ahead of the AT&T MLS All-Star Game. The game will take place on July 28 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.
