*In Full House jingle tone* Waaaake up, Orlando.

Welcome back to another edition of the Lion Links featuring yours truly, presented by The Mane Land and Subway, where you can come in and try the new Turkey and Bacon Guacamole sandwich!

The summer transfer window closes today, and Orlando City definitely needs upgrades. Where, you ask? Maybe this tweet will help answer your questions:

Your attacking wingers tonight are Luke Boden and Eric Avila. There are now 21 hours left in the transfer window.

That Subway promo was fake, but the links you’re about to see are 100 percent real. So without further ado, here’s what you may have missed on Wednesday…

Orlando City Falls On The Road At Toronto FC, 4-1

Orlando City went on the road to Toronto FC without Kaká, Rafael Ramos, and Carlos Rivas on Wednesday night and things went …… not well. The Lions fell behind early on a Giovinco penalty kick, but battled back with a goal from Luke Boden. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there. Giovinco ended up with a hat trick, and Orlando City ended up with a bad loss. Here’s the recap, if garbage (I’m not talking about your writing, Michael!) is your thing. And here are the player grades if you feel like reading some hot takes.

Young Rising Prospect For Orlando City

Most fans probably don’t know that Orlando City has its own academy system to develop the next great Major League Soccer talent. Though the team has dozens of quality players, the one that gets the most attention is 16-year-old midfielder Raul Aguilera Jr. He’s a national team player, too — he’s currently in camp with the USMNT U-18 squad — and could have a very bright future for Orlando City.

Orlando City Legos, Y’all

Lion Nation, on Wednesday I made a great discovery: I found Orlando City Lego figures! That right, there’s a website that sells figures — for $12.99 each — of some of your favorite Lions players, including Tally Hall, Kaká, and Kevin Molino. They have figures for every team in the league, including a special All-Star Game edition. Check ’em out, buy ’em all, disregard this link. You do what you want, really. I don’t control you.

Celebrations from the Mystery Fans!

Four (?) More Years of Jill Ellis

A month removed from leading the USWNT to their third Women’s World Cup title, US Soccer announced on Wednesday that Head Coach Jill Ellis has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay in charge of the USWNT. Ellis faced heavy criticism for her team’s performance in the group stage, but the team turned things around and brought home the World Cup. So in return, we get more Ellis.

That’s all, folks. Want to meet back here again next Thursday? Cool, we’ll talk later.
