There's nothing quite like getting off an airplane in Florida.

You first feel the heat when you walk off the plane and get hit with that burst of hot air that sneaks in between the cabin door and the jet bridge. But you don't really understand that we live on the surface of the sun until you walk out of the airport doors and start sweating like you just entered a Finnish sauna.

As the dog days of summer wear on, Orlando City’s home field advantage will only increase. Let’s hope that when the Philadelphia Union touch down in Orlando this weekend, they’re ready for a soccer game played in the kind of weather that would make Hades proud.

So, what's the forecast calling for at kickoff tomorrow?

Thunderstorms and 87-degree heat. Plus, 70% humidity. Yeah, that sounds good to me.

Let's get ready for battle with your Friday morning Lion Links.

Lions add Columbus Crew forward Adam Bedell at transfer deadline

It wasn't the big-name signing some Orlando City fans were hoping for (Chicharito and Zlatan will have to wait until next year), but the Lions did make some noise in the frenzy that was Transfer Deadline Day 2015.

Orlando City picked up 23-year-old forward Adam Bedell in exchange for their second-round MLS SuperDraft pick in 2016.

Bedell has appeared 16 times for Columbus since being drafted in 2014, and also saw time during several loan spells to Austin Aztex and Richmond Kickers this season. Orlando got a good look at their new acquisition in a 2-0 U.S. Open Cup victory over Crew SC, a game which Bedell started. Here’s a better look at who the Lions just signed…

Bedell will be immediately available for selection, giving Orlando another attacking option off the bench.

Transfer Window Recap? Transfer Window Recap!

It may not have the big names of the European transfer window or the the allure of, you know, actual bidding wars, but the MLS transfer window is always exciting.

This year the Deadline Day madness wasn't particularly crazy, but a few big names still found themselves headed to new clubs.

Bleacher Report profiles Kaká and adjusting to life in Orlando

It's funny to think about it now, but the idea of Kaká playing in MLS would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

The former FIFA World Player of the Year has established himself as the face of Orlando City, and Bleacher Report profiled the Lions' captain in an interesting piece that went up this week.

The Brazilian legend talked about dealing with the pressure of MLS and living in the moment. He also talked about the Selecao but didn't mention whether he believed any more international call-ups were in his future.

Kaká also compared the Citrus Bowl to the Bernabéu, which I'm fairly certain has never been done before in human history.

National team duty holding back Timmy Chandler?

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Armin Veh suggested USMNT defender Timmy Chandler might be better served not playing for the U.S. Men's National Team in the future, as it may be hurting his chances to earn Bundesliga appearances with his German club.

Chandler was a regular in Jurgen Klinsmann's 2015 Gold Cup team, but Veh said he will have to "wait in line," after being the last player to return to Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the domestic season.

This could an interesting story line to follow, as international duty is usually accepted as one of the obligations of being a star player. But for someone like Chandler who is battling for playing time with his club, it could be quite a difficult decision to make.

Ladies and Gentleman, Kei Kamara

That's it for Lion Links today. See you tomorrow!
