It’s Thursday folks, which means only two more days ’till the weekend. Hopefully it will be a great weekend where the Lions can grab three points from those neighbors to the North and maybe Cyle Larin can finally break the goal scoring record (knock on wood). For now, let’s enjoy some tasty Lion Links.

Orlando City SC's Top Five Moments

Yesterday, Orlando City’s Jhamie Chin shared his top five moments so far this season. In a season where lately we have experienced more “downs” than “ups,” it is always nice to look at what has gone well. If these five moments don’t bring tears to your eyes, please return all Orlando merchandise, and feel free to move to Tampa and root for the Rowdies.

Louisville City Begins Stadium Discussions

In what has already been an exceptional first USL season for Louisville City FC, they have now begun discussions with the city to build their very own soccer stadium. While USL is hoping for all of its teams to have soccer specific stadiums, it is extremely impressive that a first-year team is already in talks to build their own stadium. LCFC fans have lofty expectations of receiving a call from Major League Soccer and this is certainly a huge step.

USMNT Olympic Qualifying Set

The USMNT will face Canada, Cuba, and Panama in the 2015 CONCACAF Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship. The USA hopes that its Olympic team will have more success than the USMNT did in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and the draw seems to favor the U.S. to qualify for the Olympics. Perhaps we will see several Lions in this tournament–including Cyle Larin.

USWNT Victory Tour Rolls On

In a weather-delayed match in Chattanooga, TN, the USWNT continued its World Cup "Victory Tour" with a 7-2 rout of Costa Rica in front of a record crowd of 20,535. Carli Lloyd and Heather O'Reilly staked the U.S. to a 2-0 lead before an 83-minute lightning delay. After the weather improved, O'Reilly added a second goal to go along with tallies from Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan and Amy Rodriguez. The USWNT tour continues in September with a pair of matches against Australia. If the Americans win both, they'll run their home unbeaten streak to 100 games.

UCF Men's Soccer Wins Exhibition

UCF impressed last night with a 3-0 win over the University of Tampa in front of a very loud Knights Watch supporter group. The team looks to have an impressive season which furthers the point that Orlando is the soccer capital of the South, a statement we are all proud to make.

Well, that's all for today's Lion Links. Enjoy your Thursday and Go Lions!
