Orlando City to Host Commemorative 2015 Gala

The Orlando City Foundation is hosting the 2015 Awards Gala presented by Orlando Health—something they’re describing as “a unique gathering with fans, players and partners to celebrate the accomplishments the club has reached this year.” The gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando on Oct. 4. Fans can attend by registering here.

“Our vision from day one was to establish a Foundation that raised 100 percent of funds for programs benefiting children in the community in the areas of health and wellness, and all of our events, like the Awards Gala, help us accomplish these goals,” said Kay Rawlins, the Foundation’s president and community relations director. “We are committed to taking advantage of our Club’s resources to make improvements in targeted areas and are grateful for the support we receive from our fans and partners.”

Should be quite a shindig.

Homecoming for Graham Zusi

There will be a large contingent of Graham Zusi fans in the Citrus Bowl when he comes to town with Sporting Kansas City. Zusi is a Lake Brantley graduate, and has plenty of family and friends in the Orlando Area. Is there a possibility of Graham donning the Purple? Read the article, that’s why we provide the links.

U.S. to Stage Copa America 2016

CONMEBOL says the U.S. will stage the centenary Copa America in 2016. There were doubts after former officials from CONMEBOL and CONCACAF were indicted alongside other world soccer organization officials in May. However, it was ratified unanimously by the South American body, and the Copa looks like it will be in America although CONCACAF and the U.S. Soccer Federation have yet to confirm.
