Orlando City Academy College Recap
Several Orlando City academy products attend college to further their development as they attempt to eventually become members of the first team. This week, many of those former academy players made appearances for schools around college soccer.
This past week, 17 Orlando City academy products made appearances for schools spanning several levels of college soccer. Here’s a look at who those players are, where they’re playing and what they’ve been up to.
Kyle Carr – Junior – D – Liberty University
Started in a 1-0 victory over James Madison Friday night playing 90 minutes and recording one shot.
Michael O'Sullivan – Junior – D – Palm Beach Atlantic University
Started vs Lynn Saturday in a 2-2 draw playing all 100 minutes.
Kohl Thompson – Junior – D – Coker College
Started in a 3-0 loss to Anderson University Wednesday night.
Kyndle Cobb – Sophomore – GK – Coker College
Started and played 90 minutes Wednesday night in 3-0 loss to Anderson University, conceding three goals and making five saves.
Started and played 90 minutes Saturday night against Brevard College, conceding three goals and making two saves.
Marcos Arroyo – Sophomore – MF – Army
Started Tuesday night against Fordham, playing all 110 minutes and taking three shots in a 1-1 draw.
Started Saturday night against Fairleigh Dickinson, playing all 90 minutes and recording two shots in a 1-0 win.
Alex Chopra – Freshman – D – Rollins College
Played 24 minutes in a 5-2 win over Southeastern Saturday.
Noah Franke – Sophomore – D – Creighton University
Played 39 minutes in a 1-0 victory over Tulsa, taking one shot.
Zach King – Sophomore – GK – Lenoir Rhyne University
Played 83 minutes, making five saves in a 2-0 win over Francis Marion Saturday.
Michael Melvin – Sophomore – MF – Clemson University
Played 38 minutes, taking one shot on goal in 2-1 win over Duke Friday night.
Played 23 minutes in 3-1 win over Brown Sunday.
Johnny Nartowicz – Freshman – MF – Rollins College
Started in 5-2 win over Southeastern Saturday, playing 63 minutes.
Sean Reilly – Sophomore – D – Cedarville University
Started in 1-1 draw against Tiffin Tuesday night, playing all 110 minutes.
Started in 3-0 win over Davis & Elkins Saturday night, playing 85 minutes.
Dennis Zapata – Freshman – MF – Florida Gulf Coast University
Played 71 minutes in 1-0 loss to South Florida Saturday night.
Gorka Aperribay – Freshman – F – University of Central Florida
Played 23 minutes in 1-0 loss to Northwestern Monday night.
Played 32 minutes in 2-1 win over Grand Canyon Friday night.
Nicholas O'Callaghan – Freshman – D – Elon University
Started and played 90 minutes in 1-0 win over Wake Forest Monday night.
Started and played 90 minutes in 3-1 win over Drexel Friday night, tallying a goal and an assist.
Jaiden Fortune – Freshman – F – Elon University
Appeared as a substitute, playing 29 minutes in 1-0 win over Wake Forest.
Appeared as a substitute, playing 26 minutes in 3-1 win over Drexel.
Charles Lynch – Freshman – MF – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Appeared as a substitute in 1-0 loss to Wabash Wednesday night.
Appeared as a substitute in 2-2 draw with Wheaton Saturday night.
Alex Doyle – Freshman – MF – Barry University
Appeared as a substitute, playing 45 minutes in 3-0 win over Embry Riddle Saturday night.
Aaron Kleinert – Freshman – D – University of California, Riverside
Started and played all 110 minutes in a 1-1 draw with St. Mary's Sunday.
