Welcome to a Monday morning full of Lion Links for you today. I hope everyone fared well this weekend. I went over to Parramore and witnessed the power and influence Orlando City has to make an impact on our community. There was still plenty of soccer going on too, so let's get started with the links!

Orlando City Falls in International Friendly

As world traveler and Mane Land writer Andrew Harrison reported Sunday the Lions went down to Rio to take on Flamengo as part of the Brazilian club's 120 year anniversary, but fell to the home side, 1-0. We got a chance to see some of the younger OCB players on the pitch and nobody on Orlando City suffered a season-ending injury during a friendly, so that's a plus. Orlando City also unveiled its international fan club program this weekend for the club's growing overseas fan base.

USL History Told By Those Involved

In a neat presentation, a reporter for Star News put together a series of interviews telling the history of the United Soccer League. Orlando City's time with the USL is covered in some detail, and I think there's some really cool stuff in there for City fans or fans that would like to know more on the team's roots.

UCF Women's Team Falls but Rollins Men's Team Rolls

The NCAA women's soccer and men's Division II tournaments are going on right now. The women of UCF lost a hard-fought match against William and Mary in penalty kicks, knocking them out of the postseason. However, the men's team over at Rollins College managed to get past rival, St. Leo to move on to the Sweet 16. Our very own Austin David was on the call at Rollins. Way to go and good luck in the next round.

Other Odds and Ends

U.S. legend Landon Donovan laced the boots back up for a charity event over in the U.K. and the former L.A. Galaxy star managed an assist during his side’s only score…Voting for MLS goal of the year starts back up and Cyle Larin’s goal is still in the running, but in some alternate universe Eric Avila earns the honor of this year’s best goal…Congratulations to Earth-2 Avila for this achievement.

Well, here's to a quick Monday. We'll be back again tomorrow to do it again in Tuesday's Lion Links!
