U-20 USWNT Routs Haiti 6-0, Advances to CONCACAF Championship Semis

The United States U-20 Women's National Team made it two wins from three with a 6-0 rout of Haiti to end group play at the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship, winning Group B.

With rivals Mexico beating Panama 2-0 in the early group match, the U.S. knew three points were needed in order to finish top of the group heading into the knockout rounds. A loss to Haiti would have sent the team home before the knockout stages, which would have been unprecedented at this level.

The U.S. hit a speed bump just 15 minutes into the match when Sabrina Flores was forced off through injury. Tierna Davidson took her place and wasted no time, assisting on Savannah De Melo's opening goal in the 16th minute. Ten minutes from halftime it was the captain Mallory Pugh continuing her blistering goal-scoring pace, rounding the keeper before finishing from a tight angle to give the Americans a 2-0 lead.

Pugh added goal number five for her just before halftime, giving her team a 3-0 lead and pushing herself into first in goals for the tournament. Pugh now has five goals in three games and has a tally in each game so far.

Within ten minutes of the restart of play, the Americans had doubled their lead. Goals from Jessie Scarpa, Tierna Davidson and Ella Stevens saw the U.S take a commanding 6-0 lead.

For the first time in the tournament, the Yanks kept a clean sheet. The team will play Group A runners-up Honduras on Friday at 6 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 2 in one of the semifinal matches. The winner of that game will secure a spot at the 2016 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Papua, New Guinea. The loser will have to play in the third-place match for the final World Cup berth.

Mexico will take on Canada in the other semifinal.
