Paul McDonough leaves General Management Position with OCSC

A story that we here at The Mane Land covered yesterday, Paul McDonough will part ways with the club. McDonough was instrumental in constructing Orlando City’s roster and brought in players like Brek Shea, who voiced his thoughts yesterday. The move is anticipated to usher in the Armando Carneiro era as the Chief Soccer Officer, and he is sure to make more decisions heading into the January transfer window. Hopefully he can tap into the impending availability of the inaugural MLS free agent class.

United States Soccer Federation Faces Lawsuit Over Canceled Game

In the wake of Megan Rapinoe’s injury sustained at the University of Hawaii, coupled with the poor turf at Aloha Stadium, Sunday’s USWNT match versus Trinidad and Tobago was canceled. This we already know. What is developing now in Hawaii is that a class-action lawsuit is being filed against the United States Soccer Federation for canceling the game at the last minute. The USSF has already stated that it will provide full refunds for tickets, but the suit is aiming to recoup travel costs for fans, as well. In a related move, Hawaii’s attorney general is now reviewing a letter from the USSF, claiming that Aloha Stadium did not live up to its end of the deal by failing to provide a quality pitch for players. By proving Aloha Stadium defaulted on its agreement, the USSF hopes to be absolved of any liability.

NWSL Aims to Have 14 Teams By 2020

At a women's soccer conference in San Diego, NWSL Commissioner Jeff Plush spoke on the growth of the league, and indicated the league wishes to add four more teams. NWSL started with eight teams in 2013, added Houston in 2014 and the Pride this year. Potential growth markets include the West Coast (only Portland and Seattle currently have teams) and Canada (with the competitiveness and support of the Canadian Women's National Team, this is also a no-brainer.)

Orlando City Captain Kaká announced yesterday, on his Facebook page, that he will, for the next four weeks, share with fans some of his favorite experiences and moments of his career.

Over at Burgundy Wave, they're recapping former Lion Sean St. Ledger signing a new contract with the club.

MLS held the Waiver Draft yesterday, and Orlando City passed on making claims on any players. Neither Adam Bedell and Sidney Rivera, former OCSC players, were taken in the draft. Colorado made the only claim and used it on Midfielder Michael Azira.
