Orlando Health Triples Down as Orlando City Kit Sponsor
The Sports Business Journal is reporting Orlando Health has become the kit sponsor($) for the Orlando Pride and Orlando City B. The deal, which runs through 2021, also renews Orlando Health’s partnership with Orlando City’s first team. The partnership between Orlando City and Orlando Health began in 2011 when the team was starting out as a then-United Soccer Leagues Pro Division team. The original deal ran three years. The relationship continued as the Lions made the run into Major League Soccer. Our coverage of the inaugural season’s kit back in November of 2014 described the uniform we saw this last MLS season.
The club and Orlando Health had scheduled a press conference for this morning, but that was subsequently canceled without an explanation. That presser was thought to be the official announcement of the kit sponsorship for all three teams.
According to the SBJ report, the deal does not include naming rights for the new stadium, for which, it's been reported, the team would like to bring in a new major sponsor. The Orlando Business Journal had reported the team had narrowed its list of potential partners to three or four companies.
Orlando City also getting closer to a naming rights deal for its new stadium, likely will bring on a new partner. https://t.co/ntQfUxeo25
