USA vs. China International Friendly: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview, Lineups and More

Welcome to your open thread for the United States Women's National Team's final Victory Tour match vs. China. Not only is this the curtain call for the team in 2015, it is also the final match in the great career of Abby Wambach. The all-time top international goal scorer will look for goal 185 in New Orleans, and should have significant time in the game to do so. Expect Wambach to get the start instead of coming on in the second half like she has done in the previous games.

If Wambach gets the start up top, the Orlando Pride’s Alex Morgan may have to come off the bench, although the two have played together often in the past. Morgan has started the last two matches for the USWNT and has been in good form with the squad, scoring in three of the last five games for the Red, White & Blue. Last time out, Alyssa Naeher got the start in goal for the Yanks in place of starter Hope Solo. Wednesday could be a chance for the Pride’s Ashlyn Harris to get some quality time in net during the NWSL off-season.

With only one game in 2016 before Olympic qualifying, the time is now for the youngsters on the squad to impress Jill Ellis. Crystal Dunn and Lindsey Horan have had impressive games so far in the tour; both have scored goals and look prepared to step into the starting XI full-time. Jaelene Hinkle and Stephanie McCaffrey are two fringe players that have gotten playing time in the latest Victory Tour matches and good performances tonight could get them on the Olympic roster.

The Americans defeated China 2-0 on Sunday in Arizona.

Between Wambach, players fighting to make the Olympic roster, and the U.S. trying to extend its home unbeaten streak to 105, there is plenty to look forward to tonight.

Match Thread Rules:

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with our supporters. If you are new, welcome to our happy home! While you are here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no illegal streams. They can get us in trouble and nobody wants that.
  • Try not to be "that guy" who does nothing but spew venom and hate towards the team. Being critical is fine — every team can be frustrating to watch sometimes — but constantly being too negative can diminish the fun for others.
  • Keep it clean and fair when criticizing officials and players. You never know who might be reading.
  • Treat others in the match thread as you would like to be treated in the thread. We are a fun community and want to keep it that way. There is a moderator, but we'd rather let him enjoy watching the game instead of having to play babysitter.
  • Lastly, while we do not have any rules against therapy, do not abuse this non-rule. Any language that is sexist, racist, or homophobic in nature will be swiftly deleted and you may lose posting privileges. We are all in this together.

Enjoy the game! Go USA!
