Burkenroad had a breakout season in 2015, totaling 11 goals and 11 assists for the Titans in 21 games. all of which she all started. The 5-foot-10 standout was selected Big West Offensive Player of the Week in August. She can play in an attacking midfielder or forward role.
Burkenroad, a San Diego native, ended her college career with eight game-winning goals. Her accolades include 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Second Team and the 2014 Big West Conference First Team while also earning Big West Conference Tournament MVP honors.
In her first three years:
- Big West Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 24, 2015)
- 2015 Big West Preseason All-Conference Team

On the NWSL broadcast, Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni said the club was looking for players who could make an impact but also had talent that could be developed long-term as professionals. Sermanni also said Burkenroad and No. 10 overall pick Sam Witteman were on the club's board and that he was "delighted" they were available.
