USA vs. Canada International Friendly: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview, Open Thread and More
Welcome to your live thread for the United States Men's National Team's friendly match against our northern neighbors at the StubHub Center. The team is coming off a nice win against Iceland to start 2016 and a second win for this mostly MLS-based lineup would be a nice feather in the caps of all the players.
With March bringing two World Cup qualifiers, this is the last chance for many of these players to prove what they’ve got before the European-based guys come back for the games against Guatemala. Look for Ethan Finlay to possibly get another start and players like NYCFC’s Khiry Shelton, who didn’t see the field at all on Sunday, to get some playing time. One youngster who may have played his way into more time tonight is Jerome Kiesewetter. The Stuttgart product lit up the right flank against Iceland and could have easily earned an assist had Darlington Nagbe finished off a pin-point cross from close range.
The U.S. is 15-9-10 against Canada, according to 11v11.com, and the last two games have been scoreless draws, so hopefully we see some goals for the home side this time. While you may be cheering for the Red, White & Blue, don’t forget that Orlando City star Cyle Larin will likely be getting the start up top for the Canadians. Larin has emerged as a top forward for Canada and a goal for him tonight, while not great for the Yanks, would definitely be a nice sign for Lions fans waiting for him to come back home.
A win for Canada against the U.S. would be a big confidence boost going into the qualifiers no matter who is on the field for the USMNT. This will be a competitive game with some bragging rights on the line. Sit back and enjoy a Friday night CONCACAF treat!

Match Thread Rules:
This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with our supporters. If you are new, welcome to our happy home! While you are here, please observe a few basic rules:
- Absolutely no illegal streams. They can get us in trouble and nobody wants that.
- Try not to be "that guy" who does nothing but spit venom and hate towards the team. Being critical is fine — every team can be frustrating to watch sometimes — but constantly being too negative can diminish the fun for others.
- Keep it clean and fair when criticizing players and officials. You never know who might be reading.
- Treat others in the match thread as you would like to be treated in the thread. We are a fun community and want to keep it that way. There is a moderator, but we'd rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
- Lastly, while we do not have any rules against profanity, do not abuse this non-rule. Any language that is sexist, racist, or homophobic will be swiftly deleted and you may lose posting privileges. We are all in this together.
Enjoy the game. Go USA!
