Orlando Pride Will Face University of Florida in Preseason Friendly
Orlando Pride fans, rejoice!
The closest we have been able to get to seeing our shiny, new NWSL team has been vicariously through snippets from Australian W-league matches and U.S. Women's National Team appearances. However, we have not yet had the chance to see the whole squad together in one place.
Although the club has not yet made the announcement, various sources, including the University of Florida have posted that the Orlando Pride will face the University of Florida on March 22 in Orlando. The venue is still to be announced but it doesn't seem likely it would be played at the Citrus Bowl, based on what we've seen from Orlando City's preseason schedule.
Because this is a Tuesday game, it will not conflict with either Orlando City’s MLS regular season play (the Lions are at New York City FC on March 18 and then off until April 3), nor with OCB’s, whose first regular season game is scheduled for March 26 at home against Wilmington.
Stay tuned to The Mane Land for breaking Orlando Pride news as we get closer to the start of Orlando's first NWSL season.
