Well, it’s Thursday again and tomorrow Orlando City face the Chicago Fire. So, for today’s wine and cheese pairing I thought I’d theme it up a little and, like the saying goes “Where there’s smoke there’s fire,” so going with a Smoked Gouda and a Chianti to carry some lovely fruit tones along with the acidic and smokey notes of the cheese.

Now, on to the news!

PRO Stands by Chris Penso's No-Goal decision

Well, PRO went back and looked at the tape and decided Chris Penso was in a better position than any camera at Sunday’s match and stood by their referee’s decision. They bring up that it’s inconclusive from any available angles whether Brek Shea touched the ball before it was played to Cyle Larin and without any definitive proof to the contrary, it’s not a call they’re going to change their minds on. Personally, I think there is enough there to see that Brek doesn’t make contact, but, what’s done is done and Orlando City can try to pick up its first win of the season on Friday.

According to the foundation, over 150 Orlando-area youths have participated in programs at the first mini-pitch at the John H. Alex Morgan, USWNT defeat Germany to win inaugural SheBelieves Cup

Germany scored first but then Alex Morgan and Samantha Mewis put the US Women's National Team ahead to secure the win and have the U.S. take home a trophy before the Olympics start. Wins over England, France, and Germany so close to the start of the games in Brazil has to be a huge confidence boost for Jill Ellis and her squad heading into the tournament. Alex Morgan was also recognized as the tournament's best player, taking home the Golden Ball along with being awarded the Golden Boot for being the tournament's top scorer. A Wild Tally Hall Appears!

In case what you're wondering what fan favorite (and forever a Lion) Tally Hall has been up to since his release from the team this past off-season, he's back at his old home. Hall has been helping out his old high school alongside his former coach. Hall did offer up one quote about his departure from the team saying:

"It was kind of a weird little thing … I (had a meniscus injury). I play with more guys that have done their meniscus than haven’t done it. So it wasn’t a big deal. But new management came in and went a different way. That new management left after two months and so I got booted in those two months, and now I’m just sort of waiting around for something to happen."
