Orlando Pride Win Again At Home

A great way to celebrate Mother's Day yesterday was to take mom to the Pride match. If you did, then mom went home happy as the hosts in purple won 2-0 in front of 8,211 screaming fans. Don't miss any coverage from the match:

Terry Too Pricey for MLS?

If you're looking to see John Terry in MLS next season, you may need to wait a while longer because a report from ESPN FC states Terry is still looking for too big of a payday for MLS to bring in the 35-year-old defender. There doesn't seem to be a high demand for an aging defender wanting Designated Player money. It's been a mixed bag of results for recent players from across the pond signed to MLS, a club could get Steven Gerrard results or end up with Frank Lampard-type money hampering the team and taking up an international slot. I'm just happy Terry isn't rumored to Orlando City because it seems like every player is tied to the Lions in transfer rumors.

Trouble in Ohio

Maybe it’s the kits based on the flag of Columbus or the million dollar Designated Player deal Kei Kamara signed this off-season, but the Crew have been out of form this season and are currently below the red line in the standings. The Crew’s last match was another poor display as the team blew a 4-1 lead over the Impact and ended up with a 4-4 draw. During the match, a disagreement occurred between Kamara and Federico Higuain on who would take a penalty kick. After the match, Kamara decided to air his grievances like it was Festivus. In his statements, he also praised the rapport between Kaká and Cyle Larin and his lack of teamwork with Higuain.

Comeuppance for Romeo Parkes

Finally, we turn our attention to Romeo Parkes. If the name doesn’t sound familiar, or you don’t follow USL news, Romeo lost his mind and attacked worst-week-ever candidate, Karl Ouimette (last seen scissor tackling Cyle Larin from behind without being penalized for it), who lost his job with the Red Bulls when Aurélien Collin joined the team. He was sent down this weekend to play in the USL with the Red Bulls II in Pittsburgh. For his cheap shot, Parkes had his contract terminated with the Riverhounds based on his actions. Soccer…where anything can happen on the pitch.
