Good Monday morning Mane Landers. First thing today, I'd like to wish a happy birthday to Joe Bendik. His performances so far this season have endeared him to the Lion faithful. Last night's results were not his fault, in my opinion. Hope you have a good one Joe. I'd also like to talk about my fantasy team. Yup, that's all there is to say about that. Simon Veness wrote on the successful Orlando Pride home opener for The Guardian. In the story, Veness touches on the great marketing machine Orlando City has to support the Pride in the NWSL. There are several different comments from game day supporters as well. It's an interesting read which shines a light on the different types of supporters between the clubs.

The Lions have worked hard to make Orlando City a global brand. You can see that success when the team takes on Brazilian teams in friendlies. The club is also making inroads in Europe as well. Orlando City UK is the supporter group for the Lions and they highlight some of their members as they talk why they support the boys in purple. Proving once again you don't have to live in the City Beautiful to love and cheer on Orlando City.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez will be in the United States this summer for the Copa America Centenario and not in Rio for the Olympics. Decisions like this one or Neymar going to Rio but not the U.S. come by as a compromise to the national team federations and each player’s professional club. In the case of Hernandez, Bayer Leverkusen wants to have him around in case the team reaches Champions League playoffs.

Professional Footballers' Association Team of the Year

As the Barclays Premier League season is coming to a close, the PFA, the players union, has named its players for Premier League Team of the Year. I’m not going to spoil the list of players, but I will say that Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City each have four players on the list.
