Orlando Pride Remains Undefeated at Home

The Orlando Pride recorded their third win at home for the season, keeping a perfect record at Camping World Stadium. The game saw little action until the 70th minute when Alex Morgan sent a ball into the back of the net to give the Pride the go ahead goal. Check out our recap here.

Orlando City to Take on Sporting Kansas City

The Lions have traveled to Kansas City ahead of their match up today against Sporting Kansas City. Orlando is looking for its first win in over a month against struggling Kansas City. The team will play without head coach Adrian Heath, as he was suspended one game for running onto the field, meaning Mark Watson will lead the Lions into battle tonight. Orlando will also be without Cristian Higuita after he received a red card last week against New York. The game will be played in Kansas City at 3:30 pm ET on ESPN. Kaká Making an Impact with Youth

Being the veteran and older player on Orlando is not an unfamiliar role for the son of a school teacher. Kaká has spent most of his career looking up to older players and now gets to be that same role model for younger players like Kevin Molino and Tommy Redding. Redding explained the relationship he has with Kaka is influential, despite their position difference: (from the linked story)

"The first couple of months I was star-struck, but after that you realize Kaka is just like everyone else, just one of the other guys on the team. And even though we're in two different positions, he can still help me in my role because he knows a lot of things I don't know. Mostly it's the movement off the ball from the forwards. He shows me the way they move their body. When they're about to turn back, you'll see their inside shoulder and they'll open up their leg, and you know they're trying to get in behind you — little stuff like that."

Young Player Trains with Orlando City

Jack Woodburn returns home to Loughborough after spending a week in Florida training with Orlando City. The goalkeeper, whose coach worked with Adrian Heath, was invited to train for a week with the full team. The highlight for the week was getting to meet Ballon d’Or winner, Kaká, Orlando City’s star player. Woodburn hopes to receive a scholarship to a college in the United States.

Orlando City Execs Not Worried About Olympics

Ahead of this summer's Olympics in Brazil, many questions have been raised regarding the safety of the athletes. Issues such as the economy, water pollution, and the Zika virus have people spooked. Orlando City Chief Executive Officer Alex Leitão seems to have zero concerns when it comes to athletes traveling to Rio.

“[Rio] will be the safest place in the world. 1992, we did the [Earth Summit,] with more than 30 chiefs of staff, presidents of all countries. It was the most safe place in the world in that period. Then the [2014] World Cup, and now the Olympics.”

This all coming off the threat of Brazilian star Rivaldo calling for a boycott of the Olympics. So does this mean Orlando will be losing some of its players come August, or will we see a boycott come to fruition?
