Orlando City Stock Watch: Lions Earn Dramatic Point in 2-2 Draw with New York City FC

The Lions of Orlando City came away with at least a point in their third straight match, using every last second of stoppage time to bring home the 2-2 draw against New York City FC.

There were late-game heroics and meaningless crosses, and the Stock Watch casts its judgement on all the action.

Rising

Júlio Baptista – The Beast was hungry in this match, coming on in the 58th minute for Adrian Winter, down 0-2 and he gave the Lions a more attacking approach. He was dispossessed just once, owning to his strength on the ball, and got Orlando on the board with his first Major League Soccer goal.

Baptista did a nice job accepting strong service and getting the ball safely to his feet, which he then used to beat the keeper to the bottom left corner.

And of course, he almost bicycle kicked our next entrant's head clear into orbit.

Kevin Molino – The Original put in another great effort against New York City FC, first feeding the Beast for his goal before putting his head into Baptista’s feeding radius and nearly losing it as a result.

Once again finding himself in the right place at the right time, Molino followed the play from Rivas to Larin, then in front of net, where his forehead was waiting to beat both the keeper and the official's whistle to steal a point for Inchy's boys.

Falling

Luke Boden – Adrian Heath’s secret weapon of mass destruction failed to detonate in this one, as Luke never really influenced a threatening sequence. He managed to complete zero of seven crosses, consistently testing Josh Saunders‘ hands himself.

He came off in the 69th minute for Carlos Rivas as Inchy chased a favorable result.

Seb Hines – I didn’t like Seb’s return performance. He completed just one tackle in 90 minutes, and couldn’t find his way in front of a shot. Committed three fouls, surrendered a penalty kick, and offered little in the way of distribution from the back with his 59.3% passing rate, including 2-for-11 on long distance tries.
