Copa América Centenario: USMNT vs. Colombia – How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview and More

Welcome to your live thread for tonight's Copa América Centenario opener that sees the U.S. Men's National Team take on Colombia. This is the first time the two sides have squared off since late 2014, when Colombia took that match, 2-1.

The top priority for the Americans has to be containing the dangerous attacking power of Los Cafeteros. Real Madrid man James Rodríguez will look to capitalize on chances created by his dangerous midfield companion Juan Cuadrado of Juventus.

Many eyes will be on the center back pairing of John Brooks and Geoff Cameron, who should be starting tonight. The two have only started two games together since 2013, the last being this past Saturday against Bolivia.

While newcomers Darlington Nagbe and Christian Pulisic have proven they are more than ready to contribute to the team — both scored in last week’s friendlies — look for captain Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, and Alejandro Bedoya to occupy the midfield spots. In the most recent set of friendlies, coach Jurgen Klinsmann has returned Bradley to his more natural holding midfield position, which has allowed Jones to move forward in the attack. Bedoya’s confidence should be sky high as well after providing two assists in the 4-0 win vs. Bolivia last Saturday.

Up top, expect Clint Dempsey, Bobby Wood and Gyasi Zardes to get the starts in Klinsmann’s 4-3-3 formation. Zardes is coming off a brace against the Bolivians, while Wood had an assist in the game. And while Dempsey wasn’t stellar in the last two friendlies, he is always a threat to score in big games.

This is what everyone’s been waiting for. After last summer’s disappointing Gold Cup, expectations are high and getting off to a good start as hosts is key. This is a game that U.S. fans won’t want to miss!
