USA vs. Paraguay 2016 Copa America: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview and More

Welcome to your live thread for tonight's U.S. Men's National Team's match against Paraguay. This is the third and final group game for the Americans, with a win assuring the team of a spot in the knockout stages and a loss eliminating the hosts.

With three points from the first two games, even a tie will likely be enough to see the Americans through. However, this will be no cakewalk for the U.S. Paraguay earned a point from a draw with Costa Rica and gave the Colombians all they could handle as well in Pasadena, CA.

The U.S. will be flying high, coming off a 4-0 smack down of Costa Rica in Chicago last time out. Clint Dempsey in particular will surely be confident heading into this one. The Texan was fantastic against Costa Rica, pulling the strings in an attacking midfielder position, and was also the most dangerous American in the first game against Colombia. Expect Dempsey to lead the attack yet again for the U.S., and don’t be surprised if the Seattle Sounders man gets on the score sheet as well.

The back line of DeAndre Yedlin, Geoff Cameron, John Brooks, and Fabian Johnson were tremendous on Tuesday and will have to have another big night in Philly. Look for Johnson and Yedlin to do what they know how to do and get forward up the flanks to help in the attack.

While it appears that the U.S. is in good position to get the result it needs, Paraguay will not go down quietly and has reason to be confident against the U.S. The South Americans have won the last two matches against the Yanks, including a match in the Copa America in 2007.

This is a huge game for the Americans, who expect nothing less than the quarterfinals for themselves. U.S. fans will definitely want to tune in.

Match Thread Rules:

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with our supporters. If you are new, welcome to our happy home! While you are here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no illegal streams, they can get us in trouble and nobody wants that.
  • Try not to be “that guy” who does nothing but spit venom at the team. Being critical is fine — every team can be frustrating to watch sometimes — but constantly being too negative can diminish the fun for others.
  • Keep it clean and fair when criticizing officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Treat others in the match thread as you would like to treated in the thread. We are a fun community and would like to keep it that way. There is a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
  • Lastly, while we do not have any rules against profanity, do not abuse this non-rule. Any language that is sexist, racist or homophobic will be swiftly deleted and you may lose posting privileges. We are all in this together.

Enjoy the game. Go USA!
