USA vs. Colombia Copa America 2016: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview and More

Welcome to your live thread for tonight’s United States Men’s National Team’s third-place match against Colombia in the 2016 Copa America Centenario. The Yanks find themselves in the third-place game after suffering a humbling 4-0 defeat to Argentina Tuesday night in Houston, TX.

Unlike in the semifinals, the U.S. will be at full strength for this one. Jermaine Jones, Bobby Wood, and Alejandro Bedoya all missed the Argentina match due to either red card suspension (in the case of Jones) or yellow card accumulation. All three will most likely be back in the starting XI tonight.

While a third-place finish would be a major accomplishment for the U.S., many times these consolation matches do not merit the same level of intensity for the teams involved, which is good for fans. Expect a very open game, with both teams throwing numbers forward and goals surely to follow.

If the U.S. is to score in this one, expect Clint Dempsey to be involved, as he has been for most of the tournament. The Seattle Sounders man has proven that he is still an integral piece of this team and, while he struggled to make an impact against Argentina, a rebound performance could be in the cards.

Before the poor showing against Argentina, the back line of the U.S. had been tremendous in the tournament and John Brooks in particular had stellar performances. Expect Brooks to put in another good shift, as well as his center back partner, Geoff Cameron. The whole of the back line will have to deal once again with superstar James Rodriguez, as well as his midfield companion, Juan Cuadrado. If the U.S. can keep these two quiet, chances are good the Yanks can take the win.

Colombia did beat the Yanks, 2-0, in the tournament opener. Expect a motivated U.S. team who will be looking to exact revenge and earn a nice finish in one of the premier soccer tournaments on Earth.
