Orlando City SC Stock Watch: Kaká Returns to Spark Lions to 2-2 Draw with Columbus Crew SC

The final chapter of the Bobby Murphy era was written Saturday night in Columbus, OH, when his Lions fought back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a point in hostile territory. The draw leaves Orlando City three points out of sixth in the conference with one game in hand.

Rising

Kevin Molino – Always in the right place at the right time, The Original’s goal shined through again to break the ice and bring his team within one, finding a ball bouncing everywhere in the box until he sent it into the back of the net.

He followed that up by taking on his man down the right side and getting deep into the final third before cutting back and using his left foot to find Cyle Larin for the equalizer in the 70th minute.

Kaká – After missing three games to injury, Orlando saw its captain return to the pitch and immediately inject life into a side that obviously needed it. He linked up the attack exquisitely moving forward, and it was his corner kick that started the frenzy leading to The Original's goal.

His confidence and ability on the ball have been dearly missed, and the difference was clear to see.

Falling

Seb Hines – He looked absolutely lost on Tony Tchani’s opener. Brent Pretkus said it best in The Mane Land’s Player Grades: “The goal came down the center of the field after one simple give and go. That just can’t happen in professional soccer.”

He did well passing the ball, and posted a game-high nine clearances, showing all was not lost. He'll need to do better, however, than no tackles and just one blocked shot.

David Mateos – Seriously, there’s no reason that Tchani goal should have happened, and the center back pairing takes the blame.

He was more impressive defensively than Hines otherwise, and passed the ball just as well. His error was a grave one that finds his stock falling.
