Orlando City SC Stock Watch: Kevin Molino is Outrageous in 3-1 Win Over New England Revolution

Orlando City grabbed all three points at home for the first time since June 25 at the expense of the New England Revolution, earning a 3-1 win in Jason Kreis’ league debut. The stock watch takes its look at the performances of our Lions.

Rising

Kevin Molino – #Molinomania is at an all-time high following his brace and assist in this win, wreaking havoc in the midfield from the left in ways we haven’t seen all year. His three-man play with Kaká and Luke Boden leading up to his second was what dreams are made of, as the trio seamlessly shared the ball before jumping on the space created

I'm not sure it's possible for The Original's stock to be higher than it is currently.

Brek Shea – After a surprise benching to start the game, Brek Shea coming on in the second half coincided with an immediate improvement in team play. In the 64th minute, Brek got free on the right and booted a cross into the middle of the box with his right foot, allowing Molino to attack hard at the ball and put the team ahead.

Go ahead and watch again — Molino puts the defender on the tilt-a-whirl as he scores. Good stuff.

Bonus – Antonio Nocerino – I said weeks ago we wouldn't see his name in this space again until he crawled out of his funk — his stock couldn't get any lower. The man played well Sunday night, showing us all what he can bring to the table and why there was so much fuss/hype over his acquisition. Onward and upward, Noc.

Cristian Higuita – Coming on in the 79th minute, Higuita was tasked with defending well and staying out of trouble. In classic Cristian Higuita fashion, he proceeded to immediately get booked, dropping down a mean hip check that has to have caught the attention of the Orlando Solar Bears.

Throw some skates on the kid and give him a chance on the ice. Let's put that temper to use.

Midseason Blues – Things have gotten near nuclear around here, with midseason firings, a marathon of draws, and a relatively quiet transfer market having seen fan enthusiasm reach unprecedented valleys.
