USA vs. Colombia Olympic Group Stage: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Preview and More
Welcome to your live thread for tonight's U.S. Women's National Team match-up with Colombia. This is the third Olympic group match for the Americans, who have already secured a spot in the quarterfinals. A win or a draw would also secure the top spot in Group G for the U.S., which is coming off wins against New Zealand and France.
The U.S. will be favorites to win, and win big at that. Superstar Carli Lloyd has scored game winners in each of the first two games and is sure to have the ball at her feet often tonight, controlling the U.S. attack. Lloyd is not alone, however, in terms of goal-scoring threats. The Orlando Pride’s Alex Morgan had a quiet game against France on Wednesday, but did score against New Zealand in the team’s opener and is the leading scorer for the Yanks this year.
Being such heavy favorites tonight, it will interesting to see if youngster Mallory Pugh gets back into the starting lineup. The UCLA commit started the tournament opener, but did not see the field against the third-ranked French. Another Olympic start would be a huge learning experience for a player who is sure to be around for years to come.
Center back Julie Johnston was held out of the France match with some groin soreness, and her presence was clearly missed. The French dominated the U.S. on set pieces, with the center back pairing of Becky Sauerbrunn and Whitney Engen looking disconnected at times. Should Johnston play, expect another very easy night for the U.S. defense and keeper Hope Solo, who has two clean sheets in two tries during group play.
The U.S. has outscored Colombia 12-0 over three meetings since last summer and tonight should see the Yanks add to that number.

Match Thread Rules
This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you're new, welcome to our happy home! While you're here, please observe a few basic rules:
- Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
- Try not to be “that guy” who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It’s OK to be critical, and, let’s face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
- Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
- Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.
