Pride Eliminated Mathematically After 4-2 Loss at Houston

Alex Morgan and Kristen Edmonds did their parts to try to pull the Pride back from a 3-0 hole on the road, but Orlando came up just short, losing 4-2 against the Houston Dash. Houston boasts the NWSL’s leading goal scorer in Kealia Ohai and she scored twice more to lead the Dash. The Pride have lost five straight but won’t get to lick their wounds long, as they visit Sky Blue Wednesday.

OCB Falls 2-0 in Home Finale

The young Lions didn’t fare any better than the Pride. Orlando City B closed the home schedule with a disappointing 2-0 home loss to the lowly Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Titan Soccer Complex last night. Former Lion Corey Hertzog scored the clinching goal, adding insult to injury. Our Sean Rollins was there and wrote this detailed match recap just for you. Fifth Anniversary of Orlando City’s First USL Championship

Five years ago yesterday, Orlando City won its first USL Championship and Lions Founder and President Phil Rawlins was sure to remind everyone how much he loved that game. And can you blame him? The Lions beat the Harrisburg City Islanders on penalty kicks 3-2, following a 2-2 draw through regulation and extra time.

It might like seem like a long time ago, but it is important to remember the team’s history and where it’s come from over the years. For those of us who were around in 2011, that team was something special. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Phil.

USMNT: Pulisic Ready for his Chance

Even though he wants to start, Christian Pulisic is happy with the playing time he’s getting and making the most of it. In fact, in just 24 minutes against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, he tallied two goals and an assist.

Let’s remember one distinct thing — he’s 17 years old. You know what I was doing at 17? Playing Super Mario Brothers. Please, please, please Jurgs, do not rush this kid. He’s going to be good and soon, but coming off the bench is the right move as he continues to develop.
