Happy Thursday, y’all. Mercifully the season comes to an end for Orlando City this Sunday. It’s been quite a disappointment, but there is plenty to look forward to.

Orlando City’s Stadium in Photos

Progress continues at Orlando City’s soccer-specific stadium and Jim Carchidi of Orlando Business Journal took a tour of the stadium and put together this slideshow of what it looks like inside.

There’s still plenty of work to be done, and the photos don’t really give you a specific idea of what the stadium will look like, but seeing the amount of progress that has been made is encouraging. One feature that stands out is the roof. That looks like it will be quite a cool feature that gives the stadium a modern look.

One would think the club should be able to open next season in the stadium barring any major setbacks. That’s exciting.

Orlando City’s Last Hurrrah at Camping World Stadium

With the beginning of a new journey that is the new soccer stadium comes the end of a current journey. Orlando City’s time at Camping World Stadium is coming to an end. The club will have a new home next year, and while that’s certainly exciting for fans, it also offers the opportunity for reflection, as the club’s Allison Carey makes note of in this piece. Carey remembers The March to the Match, the marathon match against the Chicago Fire that was plagued by rain and thunderstorms (which is my favorite memory as well), and more. USWNT Rolls Switzerland, 4-0

Despite playing a new formation with many new faces in the lineup, the U.S. Women’s National Team continues to cruise through 2016. The USWNT dumped the Swiss, 4-0, last night at Rio Tinto Stadium out in Utah. Orlando Pride keeper Ashlyn Harris was an unused sub, which kind of stinks since yesterday was her birthday.

Bradley Wright-Phillips is SBN’s MLS Player of the Week

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two goals this past week to put him in the driver’s seat to earn the Golden Boot as well as earn him MLS Player of the Week honors from the SB Nation sites. Wright-Phillips’ two goals takes him to 23 goals this season, one more than David Villa. He won the award by 10 points over Ignacio Piatti.

Lowest-paid EPL Player to Debut for Hull City

Josh Tymon is a 17-year-old who plays professionally in the English Premier League for Hull City. Tymon has a chance to make his debut against Stoke City Saturday. What makes Tymon interesting is he’s the lowest-paid player in the EPL, making barely north of $193 a week, or 160 pounds in English currency. For perspective, Tymon would have to play nine years to earn what Stoke’s Joe Allen earns in one week. On the bright side, Tymon won’t have to do much Saturday to earn his paycheck. Maybe he’ll get himself a raise.

Oddly Shaped Fields Revitalize Thai Communities

In an effort to bring young people together in Thailand, and make use of what extra space they have in Bangkok, they have built oddly-shaped soccer fields to help foster a sense of community. I don’t really have much to add. These soccer fields are frickin’ cool. There needs to be some of these in the U.S.
