Tracking Orlando Pride Players Overseas During the NWSL Off-Season

The Orlando Pride season may be over, and if you are like us here at The Mane Land, you probably miss watching your favorite players take the field. But fear not, some of the players have taken up residence elsewhere. Here is an off-season look at where and when to keep up with some of your favorite Pride players.

D Laura Alleway: At the end of the season, Alleway returned to her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, and has recently re-signed with Melbourne City Women. The defender played with Melbourne in their W-League debut last year, making 11 appearances, winning both the Premiership and championship title. They will begin their title defense on Nov. 6 against the Newcastle Jets.

D Monica Hickmann Alves: According to her Twitter account, Monica has signed W-League side, Adelaide United Women on loan from Orlando. This is her first time playing in the W-League and is the second club outside of Brazil that she has played for. The Australian side will play next on Nov. 5 against Melbourne Victory Women as they attempt to win their first W-League championship.

D Steph Catley: Along with Alleway, Catley is with Melbourne City Women, trying to bounce back from a foot injury sustained at the Rio Olympics. Catley previously served as the team’s captain in its inaugural season, appearing in 13 matches and scoring the fourth penalty in the shootout win against Brisbane Roar for the championship.

MF/F Lisa de Vanna: While she may have only played in a few matches for the Pride, Tom Sermanni is hoping to use her in a vital role in Orlando's sophomore season. In the meantime, she has signed with Catley and Alleway for the Melbourne City Women. With the signing of those three, it appears as if a super team of sorts is being created. De Vanna can be seen in action alongside her Pride teammates on Nov. 6.

MF/D Maddy Evans: Evans also signed with a W-League team, Brisbane Roar. Evans made five appearances for the Pride following the Olympics when the defense was shorthanded and 16 appearances (12 starts) overall. Now she is taking her talents to Brisbane with the hope of helping them gain redemption from last season and finally clinch a title win. Evans and Brisbane Roar will be continuing their title search on Sunday Oct. 30 against Perth Glory.

GK Ashlyn Harris: While Harris has not signed with another team, she has been competing for the top spot on the United States Women's National Team. She recently started in the 5-1 victory against Switzerland on Oct. 23. Harris will play Romania twice in November, when she is expected to play in at least one of the matches.

MF/F Samantha Witteman: The rookie made 16 appearances (12 starts) for the Pride in 2016 and then went on a short loan stint to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus. The 22-year-old scored two goals in four minutes during the second leg of a series against SK Slavia Praha in UEFA Champions League play but Apollon was eliminated 4-3 in the series, ending Witteman's loan stint.

MF Jasmyne Spencer: The small but speedy Spencer scored four goals for the Pride in the club's inaugural year and now she's plying her trade in the W-League with Canberra United. It's Spencer's third season in the W-League. She played the previous two seasons with Sydney FC. After falling to Melbourne City in the final last season, Spencer will try to get revenge against that club with Canberra United on Nov. 11.
