Orlando City Releases 2017 Preseason Schedule
Orlando City SC will play in five preseason matches prior to its third MLS season. The first four matches are open to the public. The last preseason game will be the first game played in Orlando City’s new stadium, but it is closed to the public.
The revamped Lion’s kickoff preseason by going to Jacksonville University on Saturday, February 4 at noon, but the second game may be the most anticipated by fans. Orlando will take on Luke Boden and rivals Tampa Bay Rowdies in the I-4 Derby. This training scrimmage will take place in Orlando’s practice facility, Sylvan Lake Park, on February 11 at 11am.
The Lions will then move on to the Joe DiMaggio Stadium in Clearwater to take on Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, February 15.
The final game open to public will be against the 2016 Eastern Conference Champions, Toronto FC, played on Sunday, February 19 at 3pm in ChampionsGate.
Orlando City will end preseason in a closed-door friendly against Saint Louis FC at Orlando City Stadium. This will be the first match in the new downtown stadium, but fans will have to wait until March 5 to watch a game in the soccer specific stadium.
