Happy Monday morning, Mane Landers! As we make our way closer and closer to Orlando’s first match, it’s time to check in with all things soccer both close to home and around the world.

Pride Players Win Title Down Under

Orlando Pride defenders, Laura Alleway and Steph Catley, donned Melbourne City FC kits as the club won the Westfield W-League Championship, 2-0, over Perth Glory. Jess Fishlock opened the scoring in the first half’s stoppage time, and Beverly Yanez put the match away in the 72nd minute on an errant cross that should have been cleared by goalkeeper Gabrielle Dal Busco.

Terrence Boyd Leads U.S Players Abroad

Terrence Boyd’s goal for Darmstadt was the sixth scored by an American player in the Bundesliga this season. The 21st-minute strike contributed to a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund and fellow U.S. player Christian Pulisic. DeAndre Yedlin has been making the case that he is the best right back for the USMNT with his play at Newcastle United. This weekend, his blistering pace helped Newcastle United keep a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton. There were plenty of other U.S. men and women plying their trade abroad as well. Go America!

Stay Classy, San Diego

Last November, the city of San Diego rejected funding for a stadium for the Chargers, prompting the franchise to head to Los Angeles. Now a group of investors has approached the city with a plan to bring Major League Soccer to town. The big difference is that these investors aren’t asking for a penny (yet) from the city. It’s not even close to a done deal, but it is interesting that MLS may succeed where the NFL did not.

MLS Transfer Rumors

It wouldn’t be the off-season if transfer rumors weren’t flying around. One of the latest involves Aron Jóhannsson from Werder Bremen.

That was such a specific rumor. Fortunately, we’ll help you keep up on all the transfer rumors.

Don’t Kick the Baby!

The hero of the Chelsea-Burnley match on Sunday did not take the field. Some team might want to see if this guy feels like trying out for goalkeeper though.

Let’s see you try that at home.

I don’t think I can find anything to top a guy saving a baby from a Premier League strike. Oh wait, there is this from last year, that somehow didn’t get much press. However, there is now an official Bundesliga YouTube to go along with the GIF.

Now I can feel truly all right about sending you into your Monday. After all, it’s not going to be any worse than that. Vamos Orlando!
