Lion Links
Lion Links: 2/27/17
Merry Monday morning, Mane Landers! We are so close to the start of the season, you can almost taste the craft beer. In the meantime, let’s let the Lion Links get us through until we can watch the Lions take the field against an MLS team in the new stadium for the first time.
To Quote Cyle Larin, ”The Grass…”
We know that Orlando City won its first match, 3-1, on its new field Saturday, and we’ve even gotten some fan reactions, but now we know what the players are feeling as well. It’s no secret that the new stadium is being hailed as the best of the best as this season comes around. Hopefully, the team will be up there as well.
Harris is on the Job
Orlando Pride goalkeeper, Ashlyn Harris, is trying to be the next mainstay on the USWNT roster. She is in a battle for the position, but has the drive to make it happen. Regardless, it’s a good thing for the Pride and we wish her luck.
Downtown Orlando Getting Ready
Orlando has been on board the Orlando City Soccer Club train since it left the station, but that doesn’t mean the city isn’t ready to step up now that the season is starting and we have a new stadium. It’s good to see the support in the local community.
Giles is Ready to be a Lion
As was reported yesterday, Brek Shea was traded for Giles Barnes. The ups and down of this trade might be debated, but let’s not say that Giles isn’t happy to be a Lion.

If You Thought PRO was Bad…
Hey, guess what? Orlando City wasn’t the most screwed over when it came to penalties over the last year. Check it out.
Miracle on the Field
If you think you had a bad week, I promise you it could have been worse. Fortunately, this young man’s mother was on the scene and took care of everything. Jose Agredano was struck in the chest with the ball so hard it stopped his heart. His mother, who happened to be a doctor, administered CPR until an AED arrived to revive her son. If that doesn’t get you up for the week, I don’t know what will. Happy Monday! Go City !
Actually, this should give you hope for future generations, and should be celebrated, especially when it’s from the youth of our community.
.@OrlandoCitySC as Pres @ time, I can verify the 🌈 seats memorial is about supporting our community, love over hate & never ever forgetting! https://t.co/3mnMxFyQFW

That will do it for the start of your week, but don’t worry, the first Pride Pub will be coming your way this Thursday, so get your pint glasses ready, as we take on NYCFC!
