USA vs. Honduras, CONCACAF U-20 Championship Final: How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Rosters, Match Thread and More

On Friday, United States Under-20 Men’s National Team Head Coach Tab Ramos made history by becoming the first coach to lead the Young Nats to three straight World Cups. Today, he looks to make history again as he leads the USYNT against Honduras in the CONCACAF Championship final. If the U.S. wins it will be its first ever CONCACAF title.

The U.S.’s biggest game of the tournament came last week when the Yanks defeated the current champions, Mexico. The Americans were in control throughout the entire game, and dominated the Mexicans.

In control of its own destiny, the U.S. needed only a point on Friday to qualify for the 2017 World Cup and advance to the final. The Yanks managed to do one better and got all three points in a 2-1 win against El Salvador.

Eryk Williamson, from the University of Maryland, played a key role in the win, providing a pinpoint assist to Emmanuel Sabbi in the 18th minute. Seven minutes later, Williamson doubled the Yanks’ lead with this beauty:

The game got pretty chippy towards the end, and three players were sent off in the last 10 minutes. Real Salt Lake’s Sebastián Saucedo will miss the final as a result of an altercation with El Salvador’s Marcos Rodríguez that occurred in the 89th minute.

The 2017 Under-20 World Cup in Korea Republic will begin on May 20. The U.S. joins Mexico, Honduras, and Costa Rica as the CONCACAF representatives. A total of 24 teams will play in the 52-game tournament. Teams will find out who they play on March 15 after the official draw.
