Merry Monday morning, Mane Landers! Our Lions were able to stay undefeated at home this Sunday against the visiting New York Red Bulls. Hopefully you were able to catch all the action, including Servando Carrasco’s game-winning header. Regardless, we have you covered with excellent coverage below.

Orlando City Defeats New York Red Bulls, 1-0

Orlando City was able to keep its home winning steak going against the New York Red Bulls yesterday and pull all three points from the match. There was plenty to go over, but I’ll let others do that for you this morning.

Servando Carrasco Scores

Yes, I know he’s married to Alex Morgan, but he is also a professional soccer player for Orlando City, and he scored a goal this weekend — a winning goal to be precise. Carrasco came in for an injured Antonio Nocerino and promptly went on to head in the only goal of the game. So, basically his life is better than yours. All kidding aside, Carrasco came in and did his job by being in the right place at the right time, and putting a nice header into the back of the net for the Lions.

USWNT Dominates Russia…Again!

For the second time in four days the USWNT decimated the Russian Women’s National Team in an international friendly. The U.S. scored five goals, topping its total from last Thursday, and young phenom Rose Lavelle scored her first international goal. It was exactly the game we expected, and hopefully Jill Ellis got the player information she needed from these two games.

USMNT Roster Potentially in Flux

So it turns out that Dom Dwyer has been naturalized as a U.S. citizen and could potentially be called up for service with the national team. And Dwyer isn’t the only one. Kekuta Manneh and Christian Ramirez are two up-and-comers that U.S. supporters should be keeping an eye on.

English Premier League Weekend

While MLS is just ramping up, the EPL is winding down. It’s getting closer to the end of the season, and as soccer supporters, we should probably know what’s going on over there. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Everton all won to keep their top four hopes alive. It’s coming down to the wire, so stay tuned.

That’s going to do it for a winning weekend for both Orlando City and the USWNT. What a great Sunday it was, so let’s hope that greatness carries into your Monday morning, and your boss is especially nice. Or, if you’re the boss, you should be especially nice. Basically, be nice to each other. Check back for more Orlando City news from The Mane Land!
