It’s a somber time around the city of Orlando as we remember the Pulse tragedy. The weather even reflects the mood as the sun hasn’t been out and it’s rainy. It’s hard, trying to make sense of the senseless. But we must keep going no matter what. With that being said, let’s get to the links.

Ashlyn Harris Speaks on Life After Pulse

Orlando Pride’s Ashlyn Harris spoke about life after the Pulse nightclub tragedy. Harris was heartfelt when she spoke about how representing the city of Orlando during that time was her greatest honor. That says a lot considering Harris is very decorated in the soccer world. Harris also spoke of not being silent, and spreading a message of love. That should be the goal for all of us.

NWSL Announces New Kickoff Times for 2017 Season

In an effort to better protect the players, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that it will change the kickoff times. The changes are in an effort to minimize the amount of time players are playing in adverse conditions like high temperature, humidity, or solar radiation.

High temperature and humidity is a typical day in Orlando, so understandably many of the Pride’s games will be affected. Here is a list of the games with new start times.

Saturday, June 24: Orlando Pride vs. Houston Dash, 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 8: Washington Spirit vs. Orlando Pride, 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 22: Chicago Red Stars vs. Orlando Pride, 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 12: Orlando Pride vs. Sky Blue FC, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 26: FC Kansas City vs. Orlando Pride, 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 2: Orlando Pride vs. Boston Breakers, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 9: Orlando Pride vs. Seattle Reign FC, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 23: Orlando Pride vs. Portland Thorns FC, 3:30 p.m.

Hadji Barry Nominated for USL Goal of the Week

Hadji Barry’s goal against the Rochester Rhinos has been nominated for USL Goal of the Week. Voting ends June 15 at 9 a.m. ET. There is stiff competition, so let’s support Hadji.

USMNT Analysis From Draw vs. Mexico

The United States Men’s National Team is still basking in the glow of securing a draw against Mexico at the Azteca. Michael Bradley and Geoff Cameron gave inspired efforts, and that was reflected in the player grades.

Then there was the debate over who was at fault for the Mexico goal. Taylor Twellman absolved DaMarcus Beasley as if it needed to be done. It was obvious Beasley did his job — he slowed the breakaway, but no help ever came.

Bruce Arena is getting the credit for his strategic adjustment, while Jurgen Klinsmann is being ridiculed for his attempted adjustment against Mexico. But strategy isn’t the difference, the difference is Christian Pulisic. He will make any coach look good.

Austin da Luz Joins NASL Century Club

Former Orlando City player Austin Da Luz (2014) joined the NASL’s Century Club. The Century Club signifies a player reaching 100 appearances in the NASL. Congratulations to Da Luz. Once a Lion, always a Lion. It’s great to see him still following his passion.
