Orlando City Resumes Training

Alicia DelGallo of the Orlando Sentinel provided an update on Orlando City as it got back to work following four days off for the squad. The MLS summer transfer window officially opened July 10, and will be open until Aug. 9. Head Coach Jason Kreis didn’t give any specifics regarding transfers, because we all know these type of transactions take time. But he spoke of his philosophy of building the squad methodically, so it will be set up for long-term success.

Kreis also acknowledged the squad’s inability to score goals weighs on the defense. He identified a need for players who are more “goal-dangerous.” Time will tell what that means for the rumored Juan Quintero pursuit, but his statistics don’t say he’s “goal-dangerous.”

Marta, Camila, and Monica Called-Up for Brazil in Tournament of Nations

Pride players Marta, Camila, and Monica have been called up by their home country of Brazil to participate in the Tournament of Nations. The tournament takes place July 27 through Aug. 3 in the United States. The Pride don’t have matches scheduled during that tournament, as matches vs. the Chicago Red Stars bookend those dates on July 22 and Aug. 5, respectively.

The U-20 USWNT rallied from a goal deficit to grab a 2-1 win over the U-20 Germany women’s squad.

ESPN’s Presentation of UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 Kicks off July 16

UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 kicks off Sunday July 16 from the Netherlands. The games will be available on the ESPN app with the final on Aug. 6 airing on ESPNU.

All 31 matches of UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 will air live on the ESPN networks, with the group stage, quarterfinals and semifinals streaming on ESPN3 and the ESPN app, with the final airing from Enschede on ESPNU on Sunday, Aug. 6.
