Merry Monday morning, Mane Landers. Another week, and another chance to turn this ship around. While the MLS squad might have floundered in New Jersey, The Pride and OCB were on the right side of the win column. For now, let’s see what’s happening in the world of soccer.

Double 3-1 Lion Losses

You may remember a few weeks ago, we told you about the Orlando City SC Unified Special Olympics High School team. It has had quite a good run of success, but unfortunately that came to an end against the New Jersey Unified team in a 3-1 loss. Though the loss mirrored the score from the MLS game, we’re all very proud of OCSC Unified, and wish the team success in the future.

Collin Speaks Up for Kaká

We’re all too well aware of the crazy circumstances regarding the red card that Kaká received Saturday night. For anyone with eyes it was obvious that it was two friends in the exchange where Kaká put his hands on Aurélien Collin. The former Lion spoke to the refs during the match, and then spoke out to MLS afterwards.

Deuce Scores His 50th as a Sounder

Clint Dempsey is one of the greatest American soccer players of all time, and not only did he tie Landon Donovan’s goal record for the USMNT last month, but this past weekend he scored his 50th career goal for the Seattle Sounders. It was a very nice header from a Jordan Morris cross. You can check it out at about the 9:40 timestamp in the video, or check out all 50.

USMNT Defender John Brooks Injured

John Brooks went off with an apparent leg injury in Wolfsburg's 1-0 win over Eintracht Norderstedt. The match was part of the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Obviously, this is potentially bad for the USMNT’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers starting Sept. 1. Let’s hope it’s not too serious and Brooks is available by next month.

Neymar Debuts at PSG

After obliterating the transfer fee record a few weeks ago, Neymar finally made his debut for his new team, Paris Saint-Germain, against Guingamp. He wasted no time in making his mark garnering an assist in the 62nd minute. Then, in the 82nd minute, he opened his account for PSG when he was unmarked in the box, and just tapped in the goal. Neymar’s goal was the last in the 3-0 victory.
