Orlando City Striker Dom Dwyer Called Up for U.S. Men’s National Team January Camp
United States Men’s National Team Interim Head Coach Dave Sarachan, has named his 30-man roster for the upcoming January camp, and Orlando City striker Dom Dwyer is on it. The camp begins Jan. 10 in Carson, CA, and culminates in a Jan. 28 friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This January camp continues the trend of being MLS-heavy as 28 of the 30 players called in feature from MLS sides — 29 if you consider Bill Hamid just left and the transfer window is just barely open.
Dwyer is one of six forwards, including Minnesota United debutante Christian Ramirez, who will see his first camp among a few MLS National Team vets. Dwyer is one of six players who also featured in the camp just prior to the Portugal friendly last November and he was also a part of the CONCACAF Gold Cup roster, scoring his first two international goals in his first two appearances.
This camp is an opportunity for Dwyer to do well, as only Seattle’s Jordan Morris and New England’s Juan Agudelo have more camp experience.
All in all, the roster features 21 players under the age of 24 and includes 10 new players being brought up.
