Orlando City Loans Midfielder Tony Rocha to Saint Louis FC
Orlando City announced this afternoon that midfielder Tony Rocha has been loaned to Saint Louis FC of the USL for the club’s next two games.
Rocha’s loan to the Midwest side is scheduled to last until April 15, at which time he is set to return to Orlando. The loan can be extended through a mutual agreement between the two clubs and the Lions retain the right to recall the player at any time.
Rocha’s loan will reunite him with former USL Orlando City midfielder and Orlando City B head coach Anthony Pulis. In 2016 and 2017, Rocha took part in 33 USL games, accumulating a goal and three assists. He was signed to an MLS contract by the club on August 3, 2016. Since joining the first team, Rocha has made 12 appearances, with his sole 2018 appearance coming as a substitute on March 10 against Minnesota United.
In addition to Pulis, the short-term spell will reunite Rocha with three former OCB teammates in goalkeeper Jake Fenlason, midfielder Austin Martz, and forward Albert Dikwa. Saint Louis FC also employs forward Corey Hertzog who played with Orlando City alongside Pulis during the 2014 season.
Saint Louis FC will host Fresno FC on April 7 and LA Galaxy II on April 14, making up the two games Rocha will be eligible to appear in.
