Welcome to your live thread for the second of two United States Women's National Team international friendlies against China. Last week, the Americans came away with a 1-0 win thanks to the head of Alex Morgan.

Today will be the 58th game that the U.S. and China have played each other, and China will be tied with Canada for the side the U.S. has faced most often. The Americans have dominated the all-time series, going 35-9-13.

The U.S. is undefeated in Cleveland, going 3-0-0, where all games have been played at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Yanks beat Japan, 2-0 back in 2016, and Germany in a 4-0 stomping in 2010. The first USWNT match ever played in Cleveland was against China in 2007, which the Americans won, 2-0.

With her goal last week, Morgan now has 13 goals in her last 14 games. The Orlando Pride striker will want to continue her goal-scoring trend. She is currently fourth on the all-time multi-goal scorers list — three behind Michelle Akers.

Match Thread Rules

This is your live thread for posting comments on the match. So use our comments section below to talk about the game in real time with other supporters. If you’re new, welcome to our happy home! While you’re here, please observe a few basic rules:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
  • Try not to be the person who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It’s OK to be critical, and, let’s face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.

Enjoy the match! Go America!
