Hey, Mane Landers. I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday at whatever time you may be reading today. College started for me this week and it has been pretty stressful but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Lots of news today so let’s get right into the links.

O’Connor Reports “Heated Exchanges” After Loss to D.C. United

According to a report from Steven Goff on Twitter late Sunday night, some players were shouting and got face-to-face in the locker room following the loss to D.C. United. Head Coach James O’Connor spoke with ProSoccerUSA and said there were some “heated exchanges” but no physical fighting occurred.

“Which, you know, you’d expect that,” O’Connor said about post-match frustration. “A couple of lads were really frustrated, really irritated, which is a real positive. I haven’t seen the reports, but I’ve been told. There was no fighting, there was no punches thrown, it was just pure, sheer frustration because you’ve got guys that really care and are desperate to win games.

Numerous players and others from the coaching staff said no fight occurred and turned the rumors into positives by saying the team has a true passion. Also, losing in the final moments of a match will make anyone upset, from fans to players. Hopefully fortunes change soon for Orlando City.

Orlando City Training Updates

Orlando City saw Lamine Sané and Sacha Kljestan train on Saturday, but not with the full squad. Center back and captain Jonathan Spector was involved with team training.

Sané and Spector have both missed significant time this season with injuries and it has clearly hurt the Lions defensively as they sit last in the league in goals conceded (57). Spector was named captain to begin the season but Kljestan has served in that role for most of the defender’s absence. With nine days before Orlando’s next match against Atlanta United, the club has some time to get some players healthy and rested.

Toni Pressley Embracing Chances She Gets With Orlando Pride

Toni Pressley has made 11 appearances for the Orlando Pride this season and is embracing her chances and her role with the club. The 28-year-old defender has been with the Pride since 2016 and has seen many different roles from being placed in the midfield to her typical back line position. One thing that has helped Pressley is that she is in her home state of Florida.

“It’s always nice to be close to home, to build roots and give to the community here,” Pressley said. “I think just being in one place for the third year and having that stability, knowing where I’m at and having my family close to me means a lot.”

Pressley will look to help the Pride win this weekend against the NWSL Shield-winning North Carolina Courage.

Rumored Miami MLS Crest Surfaces

David Beckham’s plan for a team in Miami has run smoothly so far and now a potential crest for his club has surfaced. The crest/logo was trademarked by the same firm that trademarked potential names for the club earlier this year. The logo has many cool components, including the color pink, a color that is currently absent from any other MLS crest. Here is the rumored logo.

Obviously this might not be the final product but clearly a lot of work was put into this and if this is the final product, Miami will definitely have a unique logo from the rest of the pack.

Austin City Council Approves Stadium

This is some bad news for the #SaveTheCrew. On Wednesday, the Austin City Council approved the McKalla Place deal for a soccer stadium in north Austin. Columbus Crew SC owner Anthony Precourt can now begin establishing financials to move the Crew out of Ohio and to the Lone Star State. The estimated cost of the move is around $200 million. This likely means that the end of one of the first clubs in MLS history as this move has been rumored to happen for awhile now. Both the Crew and Precourt’s company released statements following the approval.
