Welcome to your match thread as the United States Men’s National Team takes on Peru in what might be U.S. Interim Head Coach Dave Sarachan’s last match in charge. The Yanks came back from a one-goal deficit before falling 4-2 to Colombia on Thursday. Since then, goalkeeper Zack Steffen has left the team in a precautionary move after some hamstring tightness.

Sarachan promised that there will changes to his starting XI today and Steffen’s replacement will be Brad Guzan. Guzan is a longtime backup of Tim Howard, but has managed to get 58 caps. The 34-year-old has the second-most caps on this team, behind Michael Bradley’s 141 — Bradley is third on the USMNT all-time cap list.

Peru and the U.S. have only played six times and the series is almost perfectly even. The Yanks hold a slight advantage with a record of 3-2-1. The U.S. currently is riding a two-game win streak in the series, after losing two in a row, and will look to continue the trend tonight.
