Good morning, Mane Landers! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. There were some exciting games yesterday in Europe. I hope to help you start your Friday Jr. off with some links.

Phil Neville Believes in Ubogagu

Chioma Ubogagu was recently called up to the England Women’s National Team. The Pride forward previously played for Arsenal and was born in London. It now looks like she will be getting her first international cap after impressing England Head Coach Phil Neville.

“She’s impressed me. We haven’t got a left-sided player with a left foot going forward, so she offers us something we haven’t got. These two games are a great chance to stake a claim to go to a World Cup. That’s what I’ve said to her.”

New Training Complex Information

If you haven’t heard by now, Orlando City is developing a new training complex. The Lions and the Pride are both moving from Sylvan Lake Park to Osceola Heritage Park. This is the same location at which the Houston Astros used to play their spring ball. If you are wanting more information on the complex, here are some frequently asked questions about it.

More MLS Awards Given Out

MLS announced the winners of the Comeback Player of the Year and the Defender of the Year. To no one’s surprise, Orlando City did not have any players represented on either of the ballots. Columbus Crew SC and USMNT forward Gyasi Zardes got the Comeback Player of the Year “after overcoming adversity to achieve success this season.”

New York Red Bulls center back Aaron Long won the Defender of the Year. Long played in all of New York’s games this season, scored three goals, and provided two assists.

Champions League Recap

As I mentioned above, the Champions League did not disappoint, and yesterday was filled with entertaining soccer. Manchester United came from a goal down to score two unanswered after the 85th minute against Juventus. Real Madrid and Manchester City both won by handfuls. Bayern Munich got by AEK Athens, 2-0, and Roma and Valencia also won. Benfica and Ajax drew 1-1, and Lyon and TSG Hoffenheim finished 2-2.

Free Kicks

  • In case you missed it, David Beckham got a stadium approved.
  • Alex Morgan is on the verge of scoring 100 goals.
