USA vs. England, International Friendly: Preview, How to Watch, TV Info, Live Stream, Lineups, and Match Thread

Welcome to your live thread for the United States Men’s’ National Team against England in the penultimate game of the year. The U.S. continues its Kickoff Series against another top-ranked team, this time against England at the historic Wembley Stadium. Here’s what USMNT Head Coach Dave Sarachan had to say in a press conference yesterday.

These teams have only ever played 10 times, and England came out on top 70% of the time. The Three Lions hold a 7-2-1 record against the Yanks. This is the first time the teams have met since that memorable 2010 World Cup match.

Steven Gerrard scored after four minutes and it looked like England would cruise past the U.S. Tim Howard stood on his head and put the team on his back. Howard finished with six saves in his first World Cup. England was the better team and should have won, but Robert Green’s howler let the U.S. back into it. The match finished all squared at 1-1.

The biggest news today is Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams, and Weston McKennie will all be on the field together. This will be the first time the trio will play together at the senior level. The three youngsters are being touted as the most important players of their generation.

The only possible thing that could overshadow the trio would be Wayne Rooney returning and the 33-year-old is getting one last England call-up. Rooney is set to play in his last ever international game and will wear his old number 10 jersey and captain the England side.

This should be a good match-up and one that the U.S. might struggle with. England will most likely win, but the Yanks have shown this year that they are no pushovers and will give the Three Lions everything they’ve got.

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They can get us in trouble, and no one wants that.
  • Try not to be the person who spews nothing but venom and hate for the team. It’s OK to be critical, and, let’s face it, sometimes even the best teams can be frustrating to watch, but being overly negative relentlessly can sap the enjoyment for others.
  • Keep it somewhat clean and fair when criticizing players / officials. You never know who might be reading.
  • Do unto others in the match thread, the way you would have others do unto you. We are a fun community and want to keep it this way. We have a moderator, but we’d rather let him enjoy the game instead of having to play babysitter.

Enjoy the match! Go America!
