Lion Links
Lion Links: 3/20/19
Happy Wednesday, Mane Landers! I’d usually have some comment about being halfway to the weekend here, but I’m on spring break and the USMNT is playing in our stadium tomorrow night, so I have little want for the weekend to get here. Anyway, let’s get to the links.
Cam Lindley Called Up
With former Orlando City Head Coach Jason Kreis named head coach for the U-23 USMNT, he’s named his first roster, including the addition of Lions’ midfielder Cam Lindley. The team will travel to Spain to play Egypt on March 22 and the Netherlands on March 24. This is just the start on a long road to to qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The Red Bulls are Coming!
Or rather, the Lions are headed to play the New York Red Bulls this weekend. In their Know Your Opponent piece, Orlando City staff writers break down what we need to know heading into the match this weekend. It’s something to read up on until TML releases our Intelligence Report, anyway. The two teams have split the last four matches with two wins each. Can our Lions muster up what it takes to defeat the Red Bulls in New York? With New York coming off a 4-1 win over San Jose and Orlando’s shaky back line on Saturday, we’re going to need to see something different from OCSC than we saw at home last weekend.
Next up: 🐂

Meet the New Guys
Over the last few weeks, the Orlando SeaWolves have added some new faces to their roster. In an attempt to connect with fans, the team has put together this welcoming video introducing us to four new faces for the season.

Free Kicks
- Montreal fans received a big surprise when ordering their new jerseys for the season.
- Match guide for the USMNT vs. Ecuador.
- Abby Wambach was among those named an eligible candidate for the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
That will do it for me today, Mane Landers. If you spot me at the stadium tomorrow night, stop and say hello. I’ll likely be the only person there with nothing red, white, or blue on. I seriously have nothing. In true procrastinator fashion, it’s too late to order something and none of our local sport and soccer stores have anything. C’est la vie.
