Lion Links: 4/3/19
Happy Wednesday, Mane Landers! It’s testing season around here, so it’s weeks like this I’m grateful for Lion Links to condense the soccer news for me. Let’s get to them, shall we?

USWNT Getting Their Bonuses
After filing a federal lawsuit citing gender discrimination and seeking equal pay to that of their male counterparts last month, the U.S. Women’s National Team will see a bonus after all. In a bold effort to show support in closing the gender inequality pay gap, Luna Bar has donated over $700,000 to ensure the 23 team members receive a sizable bonus, equaling that of the men. What say you? Is Luna Bar’s donation a solution to closing the pay gap? Is U.S. Soccer off the hook on this one?
We love when badass ladies stand up for what they deserve. And we’re in awe of U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (@USWNTPlayers). Learn how we’re helping them level the playing field. Because equality can’t wait for someday. #somedayisnow #Equalpayday pic.twitter.com/NB3FgsTDMO

OCSC Not the Only Team Trolling Inter Miami
Less of a troll and more of a legal battle, but still. Inter Miami, the team that isn’t yet, finds itself in a legal battle already with Football Club Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan). Inter Milan claims the use of “Inter” infringes on a trademark application. MLS maintains “inter” is short for international, and therefore fair game. Who do you think will win this one?

Free Kicks
- An interview with the president of the Tallahassee Soccer Club Team and the club’s new jerseys.
- Pro Soccer USA ranked players for Week 5.
- Fanendo Adi is under investigation from MLS for operating a vehicle while impaired.
- Joseph Mora’s wasn’t the only broken jaw in MLS last weekend.
That’ll do it for me today, all. I’m sad to report I won’t be at this weekend’s game as the Odyssey of the Mind team I coach has advanced to the state competition at UCF, and of course it had to be Saturday. Heartbroken to miss the match is an understatement. Enjoy the guys just a little extra for me, would ya?
