Orlando City B vs. Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: Preview and How to Watch

Orlando City B (3-9-3, 12 points) takes to the field again tonight at Montverde Academy as it seeks to snap a four-game losing streak against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (6-4-4, 22 points).

Following a three-game home winning streak and a four-game point streak, OCB had its toughest stretch of the 2019 season, losing four straight. It started with a tough loss at home against FC Tucson, where the Young Lions gave up two goals in three minutes, resulting in a 2-1 loss. Since that game, OCB hasn’t scored, suffering three straight 2-0 losses against South Georgia Tormenta FC, Lansing Ignite FC, and Greenville Triumph SC.

OCB takes the field tonight after a 10-day break. Struggling as much as it has in recent weeks, this break may have come at the right time. However, now the Young Lions welcome one of the best teams in the league, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.

Chattanooga comes into this game on a six-game unbeaten streak. The Red Wolves’ last loss was a 4-0 drubbing to FC Tucson on May 18. Since that game, they have come away with four wins and two draws, most recently drawing Lansing Ignite FC 1-1 at home Saturday night.

The Red Wolves are led offensively by Steven Beattie, who has scored seven goals in 14 appearances this season. His goal total currently ranks him second in the league, two behind Ronaldo Damus. While the Red Wolves don’t shoot very often, taking only 129 shots through 14 games, they’ve scored 18 goals. That 17% conversion rate has them tied with North Texas SC atop the USL League One this season.

Defensively, Chattanooga has conceded 18 goals, ranking sixth in the league. Red Wolves goalkeeper Alex Mangels currently leads the league in saves, with 44, and his five clean sheets rank fourth.

While OCB will be at full strength tonight, Chattanooga will play without midfielder Abdoulaye Cisse, who was sent off in the 12th minute Saturday night against Lansing.

This will be the second time that OCB has played Chattanooga this season. The two teams first met on May 3 when the two played to a scoreless draw at Montverde Academy. Coming during the tough early stretch of the season, the Young Lions held 53% possession in that game and out-shot the Red Wolves, 20-13. Despite the chances created, they were not able to find the back of the net, but will look for more success when the two face off tonight.
