Morgan Ready for More

Alex Morgan will be 33 years old when the next World Cup begins. More importantly, she expects to be playing for the United States Women’s National Team at that time. Morgan has already won two World Cups with the USWNT, though no player has won three. She might not be the only one to do so in 2023, but don’t doubt her resolve or her ability. Additionally, remember that Morgan won the Silver Boot in 2019, and this year’s Golden Boot winner Megan Rapinoe was 34. It’s not exactly a stretch to say she can back up her words.

Emslie’s Journey to Orlando

Claire Emslie has seemingly been destined to come play for the Pride. From her days dreaming of playing in America as a kid, to her time with Florida Atlantic University, she’s loved the idea of playing professionally in the United States. Now, thanks to Marc Skinner, it’s become a reality. Skinner had been scouting Emslie when he was at Birmingham City, but was never able to get her signed. Now he has her with the Pride and both of them are looking to make the most of it.

“It actually feels like I’m coming home,” Emslie said. “Now, I think I’ve proved to myself that I can play at the highest level. I just want to go to the next one.”

U.S. Open Cup Semifinal Looms

Orlando City hosts Atlanta United FC tomorrow night in the semifinal of the U.S. Open Cup, and it seems that the team from up north is ready for the match. Yes, Atlanta has never lost to Orlando. Yes, we don’t like them in our house. Yes, the “rivalry” has been a bit manufactured by MLS for ratings. None of that matters tomorrow night. Both teams are ready for this match and it will be a great story no matter the outcome.

USWNT Tour is About More

We all know the USWNT won the World Cup, and we know the team won this weekend against Ireland. But is this victory tour just that, or is it about more? The players have used their victory to further the argument of equal pay in relation to the USMNT. It hardly seems to be a point of contention other than with the powers that be. With more matches to come, the topic is sure to be front and center.

• Manchester City defeated Liverpool to win the Community Shield 1-1 (5-4) on penalty kicks. It was a close match that promises a fight for the Premier League title this coming season.
• Evidently, there’s a FIFA eWorld Cup and someone named MoAuba has won it. His real name is Mohammed Harkous and he is Germany’s first ever winner.
• Inter Miami is still a thing, and now David Beckham has more news. It’s the longest non-happening ever.
• If you thought PRO referees were bad, wait until you see this official.
